Sapporo Winter School 2009 - General Information

If you would like to participate in the conference, complete pre-registration by January 10, 2009 January 30, 2009 . Pre-registration can be made by sending an application letter by e-mail to the conference secretary. The following information should be given in your letter:

1. your name
2. your affiliation
3. your e-mail address
4. whether you attend the welcome party (Feb 10) or not.
5. whether you attend the banquet (Feb 12) or not.

A poster session will be held in the afternoon on February 12, 2009. If you would like to present a paper in the poster session, complete pre-registration by December 27, 2008 January 16, 2009 . Pre-registration can be made by sending an application letter by e-mail to the conference secretary. The following information should be given in your letter:

1. your name
2. your affiliation
3. title and abstract of your poster (in English; the abstract should be written in 3 to 5 lines)
4. your e-mail address
5. whether you attend the welcome party (Feb 10) or not.
6. whether you attend the banquet (Feb 12) or not.

Short Presentation for Poster Presenters [deadline: 2009-02-02]

You have 2 minutes for oral presentation. You can use 2 (or less) slides summarizing your result. If you want to use slides, please email PDF of your slides (PowerPoint or other presentation software is not available) to the conference secretary by February 2, 2009 . In the presentation, the pdf files will be stored in a single PC and shown by a staff member.

 

Guidance for Poster Presenters

1. Your display should be prepared before the starting time of the poster session,
   • 16:00pm, February 12 .
2. Locate your assigned poster board in the first meeting room .
   • Plan of the first meeting room
3. Your poster board measures 90cm by 180 cm . You can post any size of poster which fits the board.
4. Post up your poster on the board during the following time slots:
   • 13:00pm-16:00pm, February 11
   • 9:00am-16:00pm, February 12
5. Remove your posted materials by 11:00am, February 13 . After this time, all posted materials left in the first meeting room will be cleared from the room to be disposed of.

Limited travel support is available for participants who present a paper in the poster session. If you would like to receive travel support, please write "travel support needed" in your application letter, and explain what part of the conference you plan to attend. Since the amount of funds is limited, travel support may not be awarded to all applicants.
