Designed primarily for use in an MRI environment, this device could not incorporate any metal materials and was therefore constructed exclusively from resin materials, primarily polyacetal. In addition to machined parts, some components were fabricated using 3D printing.
Four technical staff members specializing in fabrication from different university departments (Takei from the Research Institute for Electronic Science; Mukai and Kawamura from the Institute for Catalysis; and Okada from the Faculty of Science) collaborated on the fabrication, enabling Ankle Joint Deviceus to successfully complete the device.
