Using a 3D printer, we fabricated a complex-shaped brain phantom (a container designed to hold a solution containing radioactive isotopes for imaging with a positron emission tomography scanner) based on CT-derived tomographic data. Its interior features a complex nested structure.
In response to a request for technical support from the Technical Support Headquarters, production was undertaken collaboratively by Mr. Norifumi Abo from the Isotope Comprehensive Center, Mr. Kazumi Okada from the Graduate School of Science, and Mr. Endo, Mr. Kusunosaki, and Mr. Takei from the RIES.
