Self-organization mechanism of intelligence

EPSON DSC picture

EPSON DSC picture

A cell is the smallest system where dynamism of life works autonomously. Emergence of cellular functions is studied in terms of hierarchic self-organization in chemical systems far away from equilibrium. The true slime mold is a giant amoeboid cell and is useful for this purpose. Cellular information which governs cell behavior and morphogenesis is studied in terms of spatio-temporal dynamics of both metabolism and gene expression.

Our current projects are:

  • judgment of likes and dislikes
  • origin of biological rhythm
  • organization of cytoskeleton
  • phototransduction mechanism
  • lipidmetabolism
  • positional information in morphogenesis
