To squeeze, or not to squeeze, that is the question

以下のように10月23日（火）午前10時半より大阪大学産業科学研究所にて、デンマーク工科大学のAndersen教授の講演会を開催いたします。

Andersen教授は、量子光学・量子情報分野・プラズモニクス分野の著名な研究者です。光子のもつれあいやスクイーズド光を利用した量子情報処理（量子計算・量子通信・量子測定など）や、ナノ構造を用いた量子プラズモニクス分野などで精力的に研究をされています。

本講演では、スクイーズド光と量子通信についてご講演頂くと共に、当該分野の基礎的な内容から最新の研究内容までお話頂く予定です。

In this talk I will review recent experiments on continuous variable quantum information processing and quantum sensing in our laboratories. In particular, I will be comparing protocols that are based either on coherent states or squeezed states of light, and thereby asking the question; Do we gain anything by using squeezed light? E.g. I will show that the performance of quantum key distribution can be increased by using squeezeed light. On the contrary, I will show that coherent states are sufficient to produce phase super-resolution.
