1D biologically inspired nanomaterials: moving from bionanotechnology fundamentals to biosensor applications

This talk will cover some of the challenges faced in the fabrication of 1D nanomaterials and how inspiration from biomolecules led to a focus on developing systems with biosensing applications. Some aspects of the QCANCER project will be discussed with a focus on the basic research results from an academic perspective, as well as taking a look into how the future challenges of moving from the fundamentals of bionanotechnology to commercialisaion can be addressed.
