講演要旨 | Humans gather information through the five senses of seeing, hearing, taste, smell and touch. Such perceptual abilities are indispensable for humans. In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), exploring smart sensors to mimic or even extend humans’ perceptual ability has attracted extensive attention. In this talk, focusing on the artificial “seeing” and “smell” materials and devices, Prof. Meng will present the recent progress of X/γ-ray detectors and metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensors in his group. X/γ-ray detectors employ CdSe or novel halide perovskite semiconductors to achieve high-resolution and low-dose imaging (critical for medical radiography). A series of selective gas sensors based on novel ternary MOS have been reported, and their electrical response toward volatile organic compounds (VOCs) could be drastically boosted via a synergetic strategy of chemical sensitization (defect control & single atom anchoring) and physical sensitization (pulsed temperature modulation). With the assistance of deep learning algorithms, VOCs molecules with the similar structure could be accurately and promptly discriminated. Demo applications of those sensors in industrial safety, breath diagnosis and environmental pollutants monitoring have been performed. Future efforts are required to address the challenging issue of quantitatively monitoring trace ppb-level target gas molecule from the real ambient air background (with multiple and variable interference gases). |
